White phosphorus allotrope, reddish brown amorphous powder or block solid. Density 2.34 g/cm3, melting point 590 ℃, ignition point above 200 ℃. Insoluble in water, carbon disulfide and organic solvents, slightly soluble in anhydrous ethanol.
