Thin as cicada wings, business card size This is a ceramic material named "high permeability magnetic substrate" developed by the collaborative innovation center of "core electronic materials and devices" of University of Electronic Science and technology. This kind of material has been applied in batches in Huawei, Meizu, ZTE, oppo and other domestic mobile phones to ensure the near-field communication (NFC) antenna signal transmission of mobile phones.

 

Because of the R & D and industrial application of this material, Deng Longjiang, a professor of the University of Electronic Science and technology and director of the national electromagnetic radiation control materials engineering technology research center, as the first adult, presided over the "key technology and industrialization of high permeability magnetic substrate" project, which recently won the second prize of national science and technology progress in 2018.

 

"High permeability magnetic substrate is a new type of electronic information functional material that has developed rapidly in recent years in the world." according to Deng Longjiang, the material is widely used in near-field communication, wireless charging, anti electromagnetic interference and other military and civil fields, and plays an important role in promoting the development of electronic information industry, especially wearable flexible electronic technology.

 

It is reported that the national electromagnetic radiation control materials engineering technology research center of the University of Electronic Science and technology has invented a magnetic substrate material formula system with high permeability and low loss through more than ten years' efforts; established a full-phase water-soluble system casting process, which is safe and environmentally friendly and reduces production costs; mastered the integrated design technology of magnetic substrate materials, formed independent intellectual property rights, and broken the Foreign technology monopoly.

 

Deng Longjiang revealed that the results of the project have been industrialized, and the current one-day output can meet the demand of 600000 mobile phones. The relevant achievements have been adopted by Meizu, Huawei, Amphenol, the 14th Research Institute of CLP and other well-known enterprises at home and abroad, covering six categories and hundreds of electronic devices such as smart phones and wearable devices, and sold to dozens of countries and regions such as the United States, Europe and Japan.

 

"The application prospect of high permeability magnetic substrate is very broad, which can be widely used in wireless charging, access control, UnionPay payment, public transport payment and other fields, bringing more convenience to people's life." Deng Longjiang said that as the basic material of a new type of sensor system, the material is expected to be widely used in the Internet of things, artificial intelligence and other fields in the future.

 

It is understood that the National Research Center for electromagnetic radiation control materials engineering and technology of UESTC has cooperated in depth with domestic aerospace, aviation, electronics, ship and other advantageous units, promoted and established a "Collaborative Innovation Center" with electronic information as the core and multiple advantageous units, forming a scientific and technological innovation mode of "production, learning, research and application". In recent years, the University of Electronic Science and technology has radiated new technologies to the civil field, creating significant economic benefits and providing important support for leading the transformation and upgrading of regional economy.
