During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period of China Energy News, the development speed of new chemical materials will be significantly accelerated and become the "star" leading the development of the industry. The direction of industrial development should aim to improve the quality level of existing products, speed up the industrialization process of blank products, break through the bottleneck of upstream key raw material supply, extend the development of downstream high-end products and strengthen the promotion and application.
This is the consensus reached by the participants at the 2019 (8th) China Chemical Industry-University-Research Summit Forum held in Zibo, Shandong on October 15-17.
Zhao Zhiping, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Secretary-General of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, said that the era of large-scale expansion of the chemical industry's production capacity is over. In the next five years, while strengthening the traditional chemical industry, vigorously developing new chemical materials is the focus of the industry. The development of new chemical materials industry is inseparable from the leading role of the market. The development of new energy vehicles, biology, high-end equipment, new energy, environmental protection and energy saving, rail transit and other industries urgently needs the support of a large variety of functional new chemical materials. At present, domestic high-performance resins, high-performance synthetic rubbers, high-performance fibers, functional membrane materials, electronic chemicals and other new materials are far from meeting the market demand, with a shortage of supply and insufficient overall guarantee capacity. The domestic output value is only 400 billion yuan, while the market demand is 1 trillion yuan. 600 billion yuan of products still need to be imported.
"The market gap provides huge development space and market potential. It is estimated that before 2025, the average annual growth rate of new chemical materials and high-end specialty chemicals in my country will be about 8%, while the average annual growth rate of most general chemical products is only about 4%. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the development direction of the new chemical material industry should aim at improving the quality level of existing products, speeding up the industrialization process of blank products, breaking through the bottleneck of upstream key raw material supply, extending the development of downstream high-end products and application promotion." Zhao Zhiping stressed.
At the meeting, Peng Xiaojun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor of Dalian University of Technology, and other experts and scholars from the front line of scientific research introduced scientific research achievements and industrialization technologies in the fields of fine chemicals, new materials, environmental protection and energy conservation, and released the top ten green chemical technologies in 2019. Professor Bi Yusui, President of the Institute of New Polyurethane Materials of Shandong University of Technology, invented the technology of "creating a new type of chlorine-free fluorine-free polyurethane chemical foaming agent", and Professor Li Xiaonian, President of Zhejiang University of Technology, invented the "green catalytic synthesis technology for replacing arylamine series products", and Professor Yang Qiang, Vice President of East China Institute of Machinery and Power, made the list.
